Description:
Automatic sand equipments are the most conventional and used filtering systems for waters containing great amounts of solids and organic materials.
Caractéristiques:
- Filtering elements: Filtration process through a sand bed to obtain high-quality water. Several sand types: silica sand, volcanic sand…
- Sistema de recogida de agua: Mediante brazos colectores, uniformemente distribuidos en el lecho filtrante o mediante un falso fondo de crepinas.
- Equipment: Automatic sand equipments are supplied with hydraulic counterwash valves, joints, screws, suction pads, pressure gauges, an automatic cleaning timer, a differential pressure switch, a safety filter and connection collectors.
- Security filters: A safety filter with a manual/automatic screen or disc cartridge can be installed after sand filters to improve filtration.
- Materials: Filter body and collectors made of carbon steel with a treatment of sandblasting- phosphating, inner/outer electrostatic paint coats in epoxi-polyester, later polymerized in a high-temperature oven. They can be manufactured from stainless or galvanized steel.
- Modularity: Its modular design allows an easy enlargement and adaptation to any kind of spaces. Regarding these equipments, the number of filters, the diameter of collectors and the size and number of valves depend on flow, water quality and filtration grade required.
- Pressure features: Maximum work pressure: 10 kg/cm2. Equipments with higher pressure requirements can be also supplied to order.
- Adaptations: Special solutions can be found for use as feeding purposes and water treatment.

- Filtering process: The water flows into the filter from the upper part; the filtration process is produced by the retention of dirt particles and the effect of its adherence through the sand bed and in all its path, finally passing through diffusers on the lower parts, that avoid sand evacuation.
- Self-cleaning process: By discharge, due to an increase in the amount of dirt in the filter. The cleaning process is made by the inversion of the water flow, upside down, from bottom to top, with previously filtered water.Unclean water with dirt particles from counterwashing goes out by the drain valve.
